Find Yourself!

If you are going about trying to find yourself, it must mean you feel lost.  Why not take the time to just go about having fun so that yourself will find you.  Create yourself through the activities you enjoy and you will never be lost.

What Is Your Reality?

Some people think of life as full of problems.  I like to think of life as one opportunity after another.  Opportunities to be solved through experience.  A way to excel and motivate others to achieve greater and greater things.  Take the time to experience life, for it is your reality.

Give Credit Where Credit Is Due

When I have had help finishing a project I have always acknowledged and recognized those that have helped.  I have never taken the credit for a job well done when others have helped.

By the same token, when the project does not go as planed, I take the responsibility for the error.  In doing so those the work with me on a project are much more willing to help on other projects as they arise.  If I pointed the finger at others and blamed them for the problem I would very quickly be working alone.

It doesn’t matter to me who gets the credit, as long as the project is completed.

More Fun At My Book Launch

I had an amazing time during my book launch in Los Angeles, California.  I had the privilege to meet…

0930171751c

Yup, Ice-T, holding my book which I autographed for him at his request.  Ice-T is a down to earth kind of guy and I was honored to be asked to autograph my book for him.

To be able to continue to live the type of life my book talks about is truly amazing and fun.  The best part about the whole weekend is I was able to spend it with my best friend and favorite wife of 40 years (ok, the only wife I have had).  The Awesome, Amazing and Wonderful Celia.

Pick up a copy of the book Ice-T is reading at http://themechanicsoflife.com/.  Also request the 3 free bonuses as my way of saying thank you.

I Hear You Knocking, But, You Can’t Come In

I can’t tell you how many time I have heard opportunity knocking and said “Go away, I’m too busy”.

I think it’s just better to answer the door, look at the opportunity and then make a choice.  But, first you have to hear the knock.

Give Credit Where Credit Is Due

When attempting to accomplish a task, focus on the task through to completion.  If you find you are struggling to complete the task ask for help.  If you can’t find any help don’t think you are being held back from a lack of help, just press on.  It might take longer to complete the task, but once completed you will feel a sense of accomplishment, and that feels good.

Don’t Put Off Until Tomorrow What You Should Do Today!!!

I have belonged to a Nation many times over my years of life.  I have even become a Pro at it sometimes.  That nation is ProcrastiNATION.

globe.jpgI would have to take my shoes off and use my toes to count the number of times I have belonged to this Nation.  The worst thing about it is, if I had just done what I needed to do, the job would have been done and out of my way.

So I have learned to not procrastinate as much, but when I do it is over something I really don’t want to do, but I must do.  That’s when I just remind myself saying, “Self, just shut up and get it done”.

It works about 95% of the time which means I can leave my shoes on most of the time.

To get out of that nation, look in a mirror at least 2 times per day and tell yourself “DO IT NOW”.  Little by little you will become less of a Pro and over time you will no longer be a part of that Nation.

3 Tips on Mastering a New Habit

I’ve heard it said it takes time to change a habit, as much as 30 days.

september-2017-calendar.pngIt might be true but, I also think that when you make a decision to change a habit, it takes 30 days to realize the habit has taken effect.  So here are three tips I have on starting and mastering a new habit you may want in your life.

3 tips on mastering a new habit

  1. Commit to 30 days and use a calendar to mark of each day’s progress. There is an initial conditional phase that lasts about 10 days. Once that time is over the rest is a cake walk
  2. Be consistent every daily. Work on a habit that must be dealt with daily. If you want to get in better shape then go to the gym daily not 3 times a week. Things done every few days are easy to let go by the wayside so you can stop.
  3. Start simple and small. Keep your goal of changing a habit simple enough to easily accomplish it daily. Also keep it small enough to not take too much time out of your day. The more difficult the change and the more time it takes the easier it is to quit.
